Location: Sousse is located on the coast of the Gulf of Hammamet approx, 140km S of Tunis. The port is located at 15 km from the international airport of Monastir towards the South and at 150 km from the international airport of Tunis-Carthage towards the North. General overview: The port is an active commercial and fishing port. The port offers a sheltered harbour protected by three breakwaters, the entrance between the breakwaters is 65m in width. Principal imports are timber, cotton, soya bean oil, pellets, wood pulp, grain and exports are salt, olive oil, tyres, textiles and general cargo. Traffic figures: Approx 2,300,000t of cargo and 900 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA: 165 m, draught: 9.45 m. - Breakbulk: Depth 9.8 m.
