General Description
Location: The Port of Kristiansund is situated on the west coast of Norway, 134km north of Aalesund.
General overview: The Port of Kristiansund is one of the best-sheltered harbors on the west coast and it offers safe shelter for vessels in all weather conditions and is always ice-free.
The port has daily calls from coastal vessels traveling on the Bergen-Kirkenes route, as well as frequent calls from scheduled cargo ships to the UK and the continent.
As the main service base (Vestbase) for exploration and development of oil and gas fields, the port is a significant hub. Its main imports include coal, iron, manufactured goods, salt, jute, fruit, and olive oil, while its main exports are fish and fish products.
