General Description

Location: The Port of Jizan (also known as Jazan and Jizan) is situated on the eastern side of the Red Sea and near the Yemeni border. General overview: The Port of Jizan serves as a developing port catering to the southern regions of Saudi Arabia. It features the Oil Terminal SPM berths and acts as a vital entry point for livestock imports from Africa. Its strategic location offers proximity to major trade routes connecting Europe, the Far East, the Arabian Gulf, and East Africa. The port comprises 12 berths and three approach channels equipped with assisted guidance for safe navigation of vessels. It also includes passenger terminals at Jazan Port and Farasan Island. Additionally, the Aramco-operated Refinery Marine Terminal consists of three tanker berths, one bulk Sulphur berth, and one SPM Terminal. These facilities share a turning basin with the Jazan Primary and Downstream Industries Port, while the SPM Terminal is located within the VLCC anchorage area. Prior permission is required for any anchoring or fishing activities within the Terminal areas. SPM Terminal: Features a CALM SPM Buoy suitable for tankers ranging from 150,000 to 320,000 MT DWT. The Universal Berth Parameters provide information on the suitable parameters for using the SPMs. The maximum draft for vessels proceeding to the Marine Terminal SBM is 22.00m, while for Marine Terminal #1, #2, #3, or the Sulfur berth, the maximum draft is 15.00m. Anchorage is available west of Fish Point. The port handles various imports, including general cargo, livestock, and barley. Exports consist of general cargo, foodstuffs, and cement clinker. The port has undergone significant development, including the construction of additional berths, levees, a control tower, power substations, warehouses, fueling stations, a desalination plant, and administrative and residential facilities. Handling Equipment: - RTGCs - Forklifts - Quay Cranes - Reefer Points - Reach Stackers - Mobile Harbor Cranes Storage: - Open Yards - Warehouses - Cold Storage Traffic figures: Approximately 1,500,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical IMO Class 1 handling, - Loading: Requires Shipper details and approval from the Port Authorities and the operation will be based on Direct load on Vessel. - Discharge: Full manifest with Port of Loading & Port of Discharge as the same required to be submitted to local Coast guard and concerned authorities. - Transhipment: Not allowed. - Transit: Full manifest with Port of Loading & Port of Discharge as the same required to be submitted to local Coast guard and concerned authorities.
