Location: Cape Flattery is situated more than 200km N of Cairns on the E coast of Cape York Peninsula. It is the most northerly trading port on the E coast of Australia. General overview: Cape Flattery is a silica sand loading port. There is also a general purpose wharf for the import of fuel and other supplies for the mine. Traffic figures: Approx 38 vessels use the port and 1,735,000t of silica sand is exported annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Offshore Wharf: Designed to accommodate Panamax sized vessels, up to 70,000DWT, LOA 250m. Largest Vessel: 69,911 DWT. LOA 225m. Draught 13.35m. Beam 32m.
