General Description
Location: Port Freeport, Texas, is situated close SE of the town and 3.5nm from the open sea, near the mouth of the Old Brazos River. General overview: Freeport Harbor is locally known as Brazosport. Primary cargoes handled are containerised fruits, general cargo, bulk and bagged rice, chemicals, crude oils, fuel oils and project cargoes. The new LNG facility is capable of discharging liquid LNG from the largest LNG vessels to regasification plant ashore, then piped as vapour into the national gas grid. Traffic figures: Approx 26,700,000t of cargo, 75,000TEU and 3,000 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: Brazos Harbour: Length 228m, draught 12.8m. Freeport LNG: Q-Max 240,000m³ LNG vessels.
