General Description
Location: The port is located in the N of Tunisia approx 70km NNW (30 n.m.) of Tunis.
General overview: Covering 74 hectares of land area and 161 hectares of water surface, the port offers facilities for handling break bulk, liquid and dry bulk. It also contains 22 thousand square meters of open-air paved storage areas and five warehouses that support port operations with a total of over two thousand square meters. The harbour is protected by two jetties, and the entrance between these jetties is in turn protected by a detached breakwater giving two entrances.

The port of Bizerte/Menzel Bourguiba is a multipurpose port with direct access to the sea and marine depths through an access channel with a depth of up to 17 meters. The average traffic of goods generated by the port of Bizerte amounts to 5 millions of tons per year.
In addition to the 520 linear meters of ordinary docks, the port of Bizerte-Menzel Bourguiba comprises 5 docks that are specialized in the handling of hydrocarbons, cereals, steel, cement and clinker and metallurgic products.
Traffic figures: Approx 5,300,000 t of cargo are handled, 780,000 passenger visit and 4,300 vessels call at the port annually.
