The shipping platform

Location: Bar lies on the SE corner of Barsko Sidriste, on Adriatic coast. General overview: Bar is the main commercial harbour in Montenegro, handling all types of vessels, including large tankers, bulk carriers, container carriers, general cargo and ferries. Principle cargoes handled are general, grain, petroleum and derivatives, chemicals, containers and Ro-Ro. Within the breakwaters there are a number of moles and quays affording deep water berths. The entire harbour has been dredged and there are depths of 10.0-14.0m in the manoeuvring area. Traffic figures: Approx 2,000,000-2,500,000t of cargo handled at the port annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA 260m, 80,000 to 90,000GT, draught 12.5m. IMO Class 1 cargo can be accepted at port of Bar for temporary storage for transshipment. The reception facility is with rather limited space and space availability for temporary storage is to be agreed with the Port in respect of the specific quantity and duration of storage.
