General Description
Location: Guaymas is situated NNW of Guaymas Bay on the E coast of the Gulf of California. General overview: It is principally an import and export port for agricultural equipment and cotton respectively. The port consists of an outer, a middle and an inner harbour, the first mentioned being protected by Isla de Pajaros. Traffic figures: Approx 360 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: North Pacific Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Mar 1 to Jun 30 and Nov 1 to Nov 30, Summer Jul 1 to Oct 31 and Dec 1 to Feb 28/29. Max size: The outer harbour is available to vessels of draught up to 11.27m. The middle harbour is available to vessels of draughts from 6.4 to 8.8m. The inner harbour is only available to small craft.
