They all specialize in the accomodation of river vessels. For river ports, each has an impressive berth length of 250 to 700 meters. However, first of all, the Volgograd river port is a giant passenger terminal. Every day it receives several dozen cruise ships and other passenger vessels. The port is a link between the cities of southern Russia and the Russian Volga region. There are cruise ships coming from Moscow to Astrakhan. There are also regular ferry flights to Nikolayevsk and Samara. The length of the River Station is a little less than 300 meters. 6 vessels can be moored simultaneously. Volgograd Cargo Port tranships and stores such cargoes as: metal products, pipes, aluminum, alumina, scrap metal, technical sulphur, etc. The port comprises 6 berths with the total length of 661 metres. The total area of open concrete warehouses for receiving, storing and dispatching cargo is 27,600 square metres. The total area of closed warehouses is 2,000 square metres. Max. size: draught: 4.5 m, deadweight: 5,000 DWT. The largest vessel called at the port: LOA: 180 m, draught: 3.7 m, deadweight: 9,331 t.
