Location: Torshavn is situated at the SE end of Stromso Island. General overview: Torshavn, the capital of Foroyar, is divided into 2 harbours, East and West, with a total quay length of 1,515m. It is primarily a fishing port and is the main centre of trade for the islands. The port handles ferries and cruise ships and has a weekly container service to Hamburg and Scandinavia. Imports: General cargo, containers, oil and salt. Exports: Mainly fish products. Traffic figures: Approx 618,400t of cargo and 2,300 vessels handled annually.
