General Description
Location: Port de Tenes lies about 1.6 kms NE of the town of Tenes on the E side of a wide bay extending 11kms WSW from Cap Tenes.
General overview: Tenes is a small commercial port and the harbour consists of a single basin formed by a broad mole extending 500m NW from the shore and with a short extension NE at its head. There is a small fishing harbour in the NE corner of the harbour. The main entrance is from the W and can be dangerous in inclement weather. The main cargo handled includes general, bulk, solid, liquid and containers.
Traffic: 149 vessels, 427,901t of cargo, including 143TEU handled annually.
Load line zone: Summer.
Max size: LOA 128m, draught 7.2m. It should be noted that the port is difficult for large vessels.
