Location: The Port of Naoetsu is situated along the Japan Sea coast of Honshu, approximately 130 kilometers south of Niigata.
General overview: The Port of Naoetsu is an open port situated along the Japan Sea coast of Honshu, approx. 130 km south of Niigata. It is actively engaged in international trade and is equipped to handle a variety of cargo, including logs, coal, potash, soybeans, tankers, and chemical raw materials.
The port has three jetties - West Wharf, South Wharf, and Central Terminal - each with its own specifications for berthing ships of different sizes and capacities. The port is also equipped with 35 tons of crane equipment and has the potential to function as an energy port with the construction of LNG thermal power plants and terminals.
It offers ferry services to Muroran, Hakata, and Sado Shima, and regularly connects with Busan Port and Dalian in South Korea.
