General Description
Location: Licata is situated on the S coast of Sicily some 18 miles west of Gela and 45 miles SE of San Leone.
General overview: A fishing port with one quay for general cargoes and bulk goods; water and bunkers available, but other services and tugs require advance notice to secure acquisition from other Sicilian ports. Principal imports are cement, wood, wine, iron, fertiliser, etc. Main exports are agricultural products. Licata is a large harbor with a marina within it. The marina is located in the large harbour of Licata and is well protected by long, overlapping breakwaters. It currently has 325 berths.
Traffic figures: Approx 21 vessels and 70,000t of cargo are handled annually.
Load line zone: Summer.
Max size: LOA 140m, draught 6.0m, 5,000GT.
