General Description
Location: Sepetiba port, also known as Itaguai Port, is located on the S side of Madeira Island in Sepetiba Bay, approx 80km W of Rio de Janeiro.
Note: This entry should not be confused with the nearby ore exporting facility at Guaiba Island Terminal (separate entry).
General overview: The area consists of several private ports specializing in the export of iron ore and steel slabs, imports of coal and alumina from its bulk handling berths. There is also a container/multipurpose terminal.
