Location: Dunmore East is situated on the W shore of the entrance to Waterford Harbour. General overview: It is Ireland's principal herring fishing port. The harbour has an area of 2.6ha with a depth of 3.4m at MLWST. The port is well sheltered although subject to a considerable swell inside the harbour at HW in gales from SE. It is the pilot station for Waterford Harbour. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Draught 3.04m
