Location: Conakry is located on the S coast of Guinea.
General overview: Conakry is the country's principal port with facilities for both wet and dry cargoes as well as a harbour for fishing vessels. The principal exports are bauxite and alumina.
The principal imports are manufactured goods, cement, sugar, flour and rice.
Traffic figures: Approx 800 vessels, 7,000,000t of cargo and 80,000TEU handled annually.
Load line zone: Tropical.
Max size: Tankers: LOA 215m, 10.5m HW.
Largest vessel handled: Approx 30,000DWT, draught 9.75m.

Ships can enter the port of Conakry days and nights. In case of poor visibility less than 400 meters or in case of wind power over 4Bf, the ships carrying dangerous cargo are not allowed to enter. No length restrictions, however vessel draft cant be more than 12.5 meters at high tide. Vessels carrying cargo more than 40,000 DWT can not enter separation channel due to low draft. Masters to catch best time to enter separation channel in accordance with the tide table.
