General Description
Location: Amfilochia is located in the SE corner of the Amvrakikos Gulf, in western Greece.
General overview: Primarily a commercial and fishing boat harbour, the port serves a mainly agricultural community in the surrounding area and has few facilities for visiting yachts. A yacht arriving here has the choice of a series of three rather rickety pontoons or a short length of quay immediately N of the tiny fishing boat harbour. Shelter here is not good in the prevailing NW winds, which find their way up the three mile long inlet and cause an uncomfortable chop. Amfilochia should therefore only be visited in settled weather. Amfilochia is sometimes used for the import of grain. The Port has the only pier of 220m.
Load line zone: Summer.
Max. size: The LOA of the largest vessel recorded to having entered this port is 109 m, draught is 6.4 m, size is 4733 dwt.
