General Description
Location: Alcudia is situated in Alcudia Bay on the NE coast of Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands.
General overview: The port is a commercial, fishing and yacht harbour with a small naval area. It is able to handle most cargoes including passenger ferries, petroleum products, LPG, bulk cement, general cargo and containers. The port's marina has 745 moorings available.
The port has two different areas: a commercial dock and a small craft dock, which is made up of a fishing quay and a marina. Its facilities also include a terminal for unloading coal, which is used to produce electricity, as well as terminals for butane gas and propane, making it an important port from an energy standpoint. In addition, scrap and other recyclable materials are also loaded and shipped to other ports.
Traffic figures: Approx 1,000 vessels, 1,800,000t of cargo and 161,100 passengers handled annually.
