General Description
Location: Teignmouth is located on the SW coast of England at the mouth of the River Teign. General overview: The harbour has 4 berths for general cargo coasters, 3 on the Western Quay and 1 on the Eastern Quay. Vessels are not always afloat but safely aground at low tide. Clay is the principle export, also animal feed, other dry bulk cargoes, stone, salt, blast furnace slag and forest products handled. Traffic figures: Approx 400 vessels and 500,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 120m, draught 5.0m (Springs) and 4m (Neaps), 5,000DWT.
