Location: Squamish is located at the head of Howe Sound, 50km N of Vancouver, at the entrance to the E arm of Squamish River. General overview: Squamish is a public harbour under the jurisdiction of Transport Canada and includes facilities at Squamish and Woodfibre, (see separate entry). The port remains ice and fog free year round. Traffic figures: Over 200 vessels visit the port and approx 1,500,000t of aluminium, pulp, paper, chips and logs are handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA 213m, draught 12.8m, 50,200DWT.
