General Description
Location: Point Fortin, located on the W coast of Trinidad, in the Gulf of Paria is the southern most port on the island. General overview: The port area has a viaduct jetty for oil loading and a conventional buoy mooring system (CBM) for discharging crude oil and loading fuel oil. There are also two LNG export terminal jetties and a small boat harbour. Crude oil is imported and refined petroleum products with liquefied natural gas are exported. Traffic figures: Approx 15,000,000t of LNG cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: LNG: LOA 330m, draught 11.5m, 149,000t displacement. Oil Jetty: LOA 213m, approx 35,000DWT. CBM: LOA 260m, draught 15.5m, 70,000DWT.
