Location: Pemba (Porto Amelia) is situated 180km N of Nacala
General overview: The port itself is situated on the E side of a large bay which forms an excellent sheltered natural harbor.
Imports include: General cargo, machinery, food stuffs, etc.
Exports include: Timber, maize, cotton, seed cotton, etc. The port also handles containers and petroleum. Coastal vessels are also handled.
Traffic figures: Approx 30 vessels visit the port annually
