Location: Nauru port is situated on an island of the same name, which is one of the Micronesian Islands of the central Pacific. General overview: The main commodities handled at the port are phosphate and general cargo. General cargo vessels load and discharge to and from lighters. Exports: Phosphate. Imports: Food and live animals, building construction materials, petroleum, machinery, medical supplies and drinking water. Traffic figures: Approx 480,000t of phosphate, 24 bulk carriers and 20 cargo vessels are handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Approx 38,000DWT, 50,000t displacement. Max LOA 192m, beam 28.3m. There are no draught restrictions, however the max hatch height at the phosphate berth is 12.7m.
