General Description
Location: The Port of Miyako is situated on the southern coast of Wakasa Bay along the Sea of Japan in Honshu.
General overview: The Port of Miyakois a bustling center of maritime activity, known for its thriving fishing industry and important trade in timber and related products. A breakwater runs south from Ryujinsaki, the southern point of the promontory, offering protection from all winds.
The port area is situated in the north and south of the closed Yichuan estuary, with the northern part serving as a semi-closed water area and the commercial wharf located in the south.
The Qiuqi Wharf on the northwest bank is a special fishing port area, while the Chuqi Wharf in the southwest features three berths, including a 214-meter long and 7.3-meter deep berth for 3000-ton ships, and a 10000-ton berth.
In the southern part of the port, the Tengyuan wharf features seven berths, including 5000-ton and 10000-ton berths, as well as log yards and timber berths.
The port imports materials such as wood, apatite, manganese sand, and coal, and exports products such as chemical fertilizer and plywood.
