Location: Port Victoria is situated on the NE coast of Mahe, the largest island of the Seychelles group. A new jetty is currently under construction on Praslin Island, approx 40km NE of Mahe for tourists, general cargo and petroleum products. General overview: The roadstead and Inner Harbour are protected by a chain of islands and coral reefs, two berths being provided for the working of cargo. Traffic figures: Approx 850 vessels visit the port annually. Imports include approx 200,000t of general cargo, 35,000t of bulk cement and 170,000t of bulk oil annually. Exports include approx 15,000t of general cargo. Approx 70,000t of fish is transhipped annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Dry Cargo: LOA 210m, beam 34m, draught 11.5m. Tankers: LOA 200m, beam 35m, draught 11.5m.
