General Description
Location: Lumut is an open sea berth, without breakwaters of any kind, approx 2.5nm offshore from the town of Lumut, which is on W Brunei coastline, 18km from Seria. General overview: Lumut is not an all weather berth. The berth is for liquefied natural gas export only. Traffic figures: Approx 190 vessels visit the port annually. Eight specially built ships regularly run to maintain an export market.
The berth is designed and capable to accommodate LNG Carriers (LNGC) up to a maximum arrival displacement of 94,671 tones with a capacity range of 75,000 m3 up to 145,000 m3, with a case-by-case study for LNGC‟s above 145,000 m3 up to a maximum capacity of 155,000m3. Loadingis carried out via the mid-ship manifold and vessels are berthed starboard side alongside.
BLNG loading rate at the jetty: 5200 m3 per hour. The LNG Carriers is expected to load as fast as BLNG Terminal can supply or they can safely receive.
