Location: Lobito is situated in Lobito Bay, midway between Luanda and Mocamedes. General overview: The port is formed by a sand spit 4.8km in length, with an approach depth of 18.3m. There are facilities for general cargo, bulk, tanker, passenger and container vessels. Traffic figures: Approximately 370 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: Tropical. One mobile crane with SWL of 100 MT is available. Stevedoring rates are the same during cargo ops with ship’s cranes and mobile crane. Transit with IMO class 1 on board: it depends on the type of IMO Class 1 and requires prior authorization from the Angolan authorities before loading at the Port of origin. Floating dock up to 2,000 tons available.
