General overview: Kårstø is a natural gas processing site located in Tysvær municipality, Rogaland county. It is Europe's biggest export port for natural gas liquids and the third largest in the world. The site processes natural gas and condensate from fields in the northern parts of the North Sea.
The natural gas liquids are separated and split into various products including propane, butane, isobutane, naphtha, and ethane.
