Location: Jakhau is located in Kutch District, in NW India.
General overview: The Port of Jakhau is operated by Gujarat Maritime Board and is a seasonal lighterage port, barges come from Mandvi and must be ordered in advance. The export of bulk salt is presently the only cargo handled.
Berth (LOA 65m // Beam 13m // Draft 8m).At the anchorage there are no restrictions.
Barges are loaded by conveyor belts.
Traffic figures: Approx. 545,000t of cargo and 13 vessels handled annually.

The port remains closed during monsoon season (May 15 to September 14).
