General Description
Location: Itea is situated on the north shore of Gulf of Corinth in Parnassida Province, 198 km. SE of Athens.
General overview: Itea is a bulk and general cargo port. The principal exports are bauxite in bulk and olives. Port is a cruise destination and has one pier. East side can accommodate one vessel with max. LOA 83 m. and draft 6.0 m. West side can accommodate one vessel max. LOA 130 m. and draft 7.10 There is also a bauxite loading facility at Parnassos. The sophisticated Marina has an anchorage capacity of 250 vessels. There is no cargo handling eqipment - loading/unloading is performed by ship’s gear.
Traffic figures: Approx 100 cargo ships and 65 passenger ships visit the port annually.
Load line zone: Summer.
Max size: Draught 10.0 m, 30,000 DWT.
