Location: The port of Hvide Sande is situated on the channel which has been cut through Holmsland Klit to give access from the North Sea to Ringkobing Fjord. General overview: The port is primarily concerned with fishing but commercial traffic is also handled. Hvide Sande has a fishing fleet consisting of 60 vessels, approximately 4,000GT. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: In Osthavn, the maximum size of vessel handled is determined by the dimensions of the lock which is 34m long, 16.5m wide and with a depth over the sill of 4.0m below mean sea level. Vessels with LOA longer than 33.5m can be canalled through the lock at certain stages of the tide.
