General Description
Location: Ho-Ping is situated on the E coast of Taiwan approximately 20nm N of Hualien and opens to the Philippine Sea in the Pacific Ocean.
General overview: The port imports coal, serving as a supply base for the Ho-Ping Power Station, and exports sand and gravel for the construction industry. At present time there are 6 wharfs (coal unloading wharf, special cement port and port terminal).
Wharf facilities:
-Wharf N2: length: 330 m, depth: 16 m; facilities: Used for unloading coal.
-Wharf S1: length: 120 m, depth: 9 m; facilities: Used for heavy cargo, river sands, and raw material loading or unloading.
-Wharf S2: length: 220 m, depth: 13 m; facilities: Used for limestone, cement clinker, cement, silica sand, and iron slag loading and unloading.
-Wharf S3: length: 220 m, depth: 13 m; facilities: Only used for cement loading.
-Wharf S4: length: 200 m; depth: 12 m.
