General Description
Location: Honolulu, located on the island of Oahu, on Mamala Bay, is the capital and main port of the Hawaiian Islands. General overview: There are numerous berths available for general, bulk (liquid and solid), container and Ro-Ro cargoes, with extensive general, refrigerated and container storage. General cargo is handled using ship's gear; 9 gantry cranes are utilised for containers. Exports mainly consist of sugar and other agricultural products, while imports are chiefly general household goods, fuel oil and automobiles. Good bunkering and repair facilities are available. Traffic figures: The port handles approx 8,859,032t of cargo, 1,100,000TEU, 3,130 (Inter-Island) and 1,030 (overseas) vessels annually.
