General Description
Location: Fiumicino is located at the entrance to the Tiber, approx 35km W of Rome.
General overview: Fiumicino port is a canal port, which extends along the quays banks of the navigable channel, obtained thanks to the prolongation towards the sea of the ancient Trajan pit. The port handles bulk oil and petroleum products at the Raffineria di Roma offshore terminal 3nm SW of the entrance. Offshore terminal comprising two SPMs, R1 and R2 handling crude and petroleum products The terminal is operated by IP Industrial SpA, a subsidiary of Italiana Petrolil SpA. The harbour is used by small coastal tankers and cargo vessels and provides an operating base for servicing the offshore berths.

-Harbour: Draught 3.2m, subject to silting and hydro electric plant requirements.
-SBM R1: Draught 15.5m, (max 150,000DWT), 15.2m (max 290,000DWT), minimum size vessel 30,000DWT.
-SBM R2: Draught 13.7m, minimum size vessel 10,000DWT to max 150,000DWT.
