Location: Cul-de-Sac is situated on the W side of Saint Lucia, approx 2nm S of Castries. General overview: Amerada Hess Oil Company of St Croix (HOSLL) have constructed one of the largest oil transhipment centres in the Caribbean at Cul-de-Sac Bay. Traffic figures: Approx 6,820,000t (crude oil, LPG and finished products) and 120 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Nov 1 to Jul 15, Summer Jul 16 to Oct 31. Overloading: The terminal reserves the right to monitor the loading of any vessel to ensure compliance with International Load Line regulations and to notify the appropriate authority in the event of contravention. Max size: Vessels greater than 400,000DWT will be considered on a ship by ship basis by the Amerada Hess Corporation's Marine Department provided the request is made in advance of the proposed vessel being nominated.
