Location: The port of Tongling is located on the right bank of the lower reaches of the Changjiang (Yangtze) River in Anhui Province. General overview: The port of Tongling is used for passengers and cargo. It is a pivot for the transport in Anhui Province. The port is bounded by Meigeng up river and Digang down river with an overall length of approx 60km and a water area of 470,000m². The port has 4 harbour areas, Datong, Henggang, Shaobagou and Chengguan. There are 22 berths and the port is open all year long. The main cargoes handled in the port are coal, petroleum, metallic ore, ore materials, sand, cement and phosphorus ore. The port capacity is expected to handle vessels up to 10,000DWT. Traffic figures: Approx 4,013,000t of cargo and 4,000TEU handled annually. Max size: Draught 7.0m, 5,000DWT.
