General Description
Location: Bayonne is located at the entrance to the River Adour, on the W coast of France.
General overview: The port has a number of public and private cargo handling facilities positioned on both sides of the river. These facilities can accommodate cruise, general, bulk and oil vessels. The principal cargoes handled are maize, steel exports, chemical liquids in bulk, gasoline, fuel oil and fertiliser. Cruise vessels call at Bayonne city quay and also anchor in nearby St Jean de Luz Bay, where max size is LOA 180m, draught 7.5m.

Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.
Max size: LOA 160m, beam 25m, draught 8.7m (entry), 9.6m (departure). Each request for LOA between 160m and 180m will be examined on case by case basis. Night time restriction: LOA 130m and draught 7.0m.
