General Description
Location: Arbatax is situated on Capo Bellavista on the western coast of the island of Sardinia off the west of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea.
General overview: Primarily Arbatax is a commercial and fishing port, a small marina, Marina di Arbatax, has been established on the S side of the harbour. The marina provides around 80 berths on a series of pontoons for yachts up to 30.0 metres and in depths of up to 9.0 meters. The port comprises a basin bound by quays to the W and S and a breakwater to the E. Principally a timber port, general cargo and other bulks are handled. One private mobile crane of 6 tons capacity is avaliable for discharging pulpwood at Banchina Ovest pier. There is only one berthing option, Marina di Arbatax, which occupies a series of pontoons at the S side of the harbour. Arbatax ferry port connects to the mainland Italy via the ferry ports of Civitavecchia, Genoa, Fiumicino, Olbia and Cagliari.
Traffic figures: Approx 120 vessels visit the port annually.
