Location: Portocel, also known as Barra do Riacho or Aracruz, is situated in Praia das Conchas, 30nm from the port of Vitoria. General overview: The Port Portocel consists of 3 berths on a 700m quay, the terminal is protected by two breakwaters. Portocel, a private terminal belonging to Aracruz Celulose S/A (woodpulp production) and Celulose Nipo-Brasileira S/A, Cenibra. The port specialises in the handling of woodpulp, discharge of salt, wood, granite, sodium sulfate, steel products and sulphur for both mills, as well as the discharge of hydrogen peroxide. The terminal doesn't have handling equipment, most of it is carried out by vessels equipment. Despite that, Forklifts are used for the warehouses and transport the cargo alongside the vessels. Warehousing: - Warehouse 1: 13,500 m2 (51,485 t) - Warehouse 2: 12,096 m2 (45,153 t) - Warehouse 3: 14,352 m2 (55,072 t) - Warehouse 4: 16,848 m2 (71,842 t) Mostly used to store woodpulp. Traffic figures: Approx. 150 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Max LOA 230m // Beam 36m // Draught 11.9m (with tide)
