General Description
Location: The port of Albany is situated in King George Sound on the S coast of Western Australia. General overview: The port's main imports are rock phosphate, petroleum products, sulphur, fertiliser, fish and main exports are grain, silica sand and woodchip. Facilities for cruise ships and Ro-Ro/container vessels. Traffic figures: Approx 126 vessels and 3,501,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA 225m, beam 33m; draught 11.5m, 67,000DWT. Any vessel in excess of these limits will be accepted only at the discretion of the Harbour Master. Panamax type vessels (225m x 32m) are accommodated at Berth No 3. Largest vessel handled: Cruise vessel "Adonia", LOA 261m, 76,000DWT.
