General Description
Location: The port of Laayoune, also known as Aaiun, is situated 650km SW of Agadir, in the Western Sahara region of Morocco.
General overview: Laayoune is mainly a bulk phosphate terminal. The terminal, situated approx 3.6km from the coast, is served by conveyor systems and silos.
There are also general cargo and fishery facilities available in small harbour.
Imports include hydrocarbons, general sundries and cement.
Exports - phosphate, sand, frozen fish, fish oil and general sundries.
Traffic figures: Approx 4,500,000t of cargo handled annually.
Load line zone: Tropical.
Max LOA : 120 m // a derogation might be requested to berth vessels with LOA upto 130 m, nearby the nautical commission
Max draft : 6,15 m

Berthing/sailing with high tide, day time/night time navigation not authorized
Port working hours : two shifts daily fm 0700 lt to 1500 lt // from 1500 lt to 2300 lt
Port is equipped with two shore cranes with capacities 63 and 40 mt at 18m outreach and they can be used for Tandem lifting.
