Location: Stephenville is located on the W coast of Newfoundland at the head of St George's Bay. Port Harmon is the harbour for Stephenville. General overview: The port consists of one berth used by both general cargo vessels and tankers. Major import is pulpwood used at local mill. The port operates all year round, with the exception between Dec-Mar when weather conditions may restrict movements. Traffic figures: Approx 424 vessels handled annually Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 195m, draught 9.2m. It is recommended that a larger vessel fixing should be discussed with port officials.
