General Description
Location: Portovyy Punkt Ochamchira lies 32nm SE of Sokhumi on the E coast of the Black Sea.
General overview: The port consists of a basin built on the left bank of the mouth of Reka Dzhigmuri and linked to the sea by a channel 0.37nm long and 50m wide. The channel is subject to silting and local authorities must be consulted about current depths. The port exports coal. There are three berths in the port area: 115 m of northern berth used for loading coal; 140 m of eastern berth used for loading general cargo, roundwood, sawnwood, scrap of ferrous metals, bulk cargoes (rubble, sand)The southern berth, which is 172.6 m in length, is exclusively for the berthing of boats and coast guard vessels.
