General Description

Location: The Ceiba Marine Terminal is located in position 01°24'N 009°13'E in approx 90m of water, 15nm off the coast of Equatorial Guinea. The CALM Buoy is located 1.6km to the E of the FPSO in approx 67m of water. The nearest port is Bata, Equatorial Guinea, at a distance of approx 42nm. General overview: The terminal consists of a FPSO vessel "Sendje Ceiba", a 274,000DWT tanker registered under the Bahamian flag and a CALM Buoy. All crude oil loading and export operations at the terminal are normally carried out from the CALM buoy under the supervison of a Mooring Master supplied by the terminal operator. The terminal generally operates on a continuous basis. While export tankers may be loaded at any hour, weather and other circumstances permitting, mooring of export tankers takes place only during daylight hours. Export tankers should arrive at the Pilot Station by 1500hrs LT in order to ensure that all mooring operations can be conducted during daylight hours. Export tankers may unmoor at any time. Decisions regarding the opening and closing of the Ceiba Marine Terminal will be made at the discretion of FPSO Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) or Mooring Master who will provide the Masters of export tankers with written confirmation of any closure of the terminal. Vessels required to leave the terminal area during any period of closure must keep in contact with the terminal by VHF so as to be readily available when the terminal re-opens. As the terminal is located offshore, the only means of transportation to shore is by helicopter, terminal tug or craft arranged by the vessel's agent. Accordingly, the terminal can offer no logistical support for shore leave, fresh water, crew change, spare parts, stores, bunkers, repairs or medical assistance. However, in the event of an emergency, a helicopter may be available to evacuate a casualty. Vessel Masters are responsible for arranging any required services through their agent. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: CALM Buoy: SBM is subject to a max vessel size of 350,000DWT and a min of 150,000DWT. There is no draught limitation, however, the presence of sub surface currents at draughts greater than 10.0m can occasionally cause delays to mooring. Vessels must arrive with a max trim of 3m and with the propeller fully immersed. Tandem mooring: The FPSO is also configured for bow to bow mooring, in the event the CALM Buoy is not operational. Max export vessel size 155,000DWT, arrival draught 10.0m. Vessels will receive specific information should bow to bow operation be required. Arrival and departure draughts: Export tankers are required to arrive at the terminal at their normal ballast draught. There is no departure draught restriction, provided the export tanker is not overloaded and does not exceed max allowed displacement. Largest vessel handled: 350,000DWT.
