General Description
Location: The port of Sibolga is situated on the western coast of Sumatera. General overview: The port consists of a roadstead anchorage for ocean-going vessels, depths in the area between 10.0-15.0m. Sibolga is approximately 150km by road to the Lake Toba tourist area. Tsunami update: Port open with one jetty available for vessels with max LOA 100m and draught 6.5m. Some roads open. Four red mooring buoys, marked by a beacon placed 0.3nm NW of Pulau Sarudut, form two oil mooring berths. There is depth of 9.0m at these moorings. Vessels of between LOA 120m and 150m in length and 6,000-16,500DWT can use these moorings. Ocean going vessels anchor in the roads and work cargo using lighters, which are then loaded/discharged alongside jetties. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: The open roadstead anchorage can take a maximum LOA of 150m and 16,500DWT. The max draught at the port is 6.5m and the max LOA is 100m.
