Location: Roomassarre port is situated approx 2km S of the town of Kuressaare, on the tip of the peninsula separating Kuressaare and Sepamaa bays. General overview: The port is situated on the island of Saaremaa. The facilities form an elongation of the narrow peninsula stretching nearly 0.5km into the sea in the shape of a narrow pier with berths along the eastern side. A 170m breakwater extends from its tip to the E, protecting the harbour. The port handles general cargo, oil and has a passenger ferry service to the other islands, there is also a yacht harbour. Principal exports are agricultural products, timber and stone. Imports are farming machinery and groceries. Traffic figures: Approx 130,500t of cargo and 6,700 passengers are handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100m or less in length, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Max draught 5.4m.
