General Description
Location: Rahja (also known as Kalajoki) is situated on the W coast of Finland, approx 25nm NE of Kokkola. The port lies approx. 6NM SW of Kalajoki.
General overview: The Port of Kalajoki specializes in the handling of timber products and small quantities of scrap iron, white peat, grain and wood pellets as bulk cargoes.
Kalajoki consists of 3 berths on a 415m quay.
- Berth No.1 (Length 152m // Draught 5.8m)

Traffic figures: Approx. 145 vessels and 500,000t of cargo handled annually.
Load line zone:
- Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length
- Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length.
- Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31,
- Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.
During December and April ice occurs. Only vessels with an ICE class will be assisted by icebreakers.
