General Description
Location: Palau is situated on the NE coast of Sardinia, approx 2nm from Maddalena Island which, in turn, is situated at the eastern end of the Bonifacio Strait.
General overview: Palau is primarily a tourist port and has good accommodation for large yachts. The ferry port provides connections to La Maddalena island. The port facility consists of a large dock, an area specifically reserved for Italian Navy, some quays, 7 floating jetties and a cement pier reserved for recreational boats. The harbour contain a secure marina, Porto Turistico, with around 400 berths for yachts of up to 18.0 metres. Out of the port, a multi-buoy mooring terminal allows yachtsmen to drop the anchor in complete safety.
