The shipping platform

Location: Olga is situated in Olga Bay, on the NW coast of the Japan Sea, between Cape Manevskogo and Chikhacheva Island. General overview: The port is closed to foreign vessels. It is open for navigation throughout the year. In winter (from the beginning of November to the end of April) the bay is covered with ice. During winter time ice is constantly removed and does not obstruct shipping. The main cargoes handled are logs and technological chips which are exported. Traffic figures: Approx 200,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: North Pacific Winter Seasonal Zone: Winter: Oct 16-April 15. Summer: April 16-Oct 15.
