General Description
Location: Nauplia, or Navplio, is on the SE coast of Greece facing the Gulf of Nauplia.
General overview: The port comprises an artificial harbour. Length of harbor beneficial for mooring ships approximately 1100 m. The Port of Nafplio is used only for bulk cargo due to its insufficient depth and also hosts a great number of leisure ships during the tourist season. Nauplia is also adapted to receive ferries. It also has a fishing part and a marina where yachts moor. Principal exports are citrus fruit, tomato puree, tinned food, beans, potatoes and fresh fruit. Imports include wheat, salt, fertiliser, cement and timber.
Traffic figures: Approx 95 vessels and 16,425 passengers handled annually.
